Garlicky Brussels Sprout Prosciutto Pizza

Who knew brussels sprouts on top of pizza would be so delicious?

Introduction

Who knew brussels sprouts on top of pizza would be so delicious? This tasty combo of prosciutto, cheese, garlic, herbs and brussels just works. I’m always looking for ways to incorporate new veggies onto the kids plates – they ate this one up!

If you’re like me, and quite last minute with dinner plans, use a pre-made pizza dough. My absolute favourite is from the Italian Centre here in Edmonton. You can find it fresh or frozen. It’s so easy to work with and comes out perfect every time!

Jalapeño Bruschetta Chicken Bowl

Ingredients

  • Pizza dough (my absolute favorite is from the Italian Centre – you can purchase it fresh or frozen!)
  • 2 ½ cups shredded brussels sprouts
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded white cheddar
  • Thinly sliced purple onion
  • 1 cup of ripped prosciutto
  • 2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • Roughly 1-2 cups of fresh basil
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • ¼-1 tsp chili flakes
  • Salt & pepper
  • Extra honey for drizzle

*Before you start prepping dinner, make sure your dough is at room temperature. It’s much easier to work with and won’t shrink up on you*

Preheat your oven to 450 degrees. If you have a pizza stone, start heating it – otherwise line a baking sheet with parchment

Prep the brussels sprouts. Cut off the end and very thinly slice/shave the sprout. You can add variety by cutting the sprout in half and then peeling the layers a part. Toss with 1 tsp of olive oil, grated parmesan cheese and salt and pepper. Set aside
