Description

This super delicious, ultra simple recipe is a weeknight staple in our house. Full of flavour, minimal ingredients and quick cook time makes this a family favourite of mine! This one skillet salmon is for those nights when you’re craving something fancy, but need to keep things quick and easy too – under 30 minutes!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 4 Salmon Fillets (skin on or off)
  • 1/4 cup salted butter
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 56 cloves garlic, grated
  • 1/2 lemon, fresh squeezed juice
  • 1/3 cup scallions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  2. Prep the salmon fillets by cleaning them and sprinkling with salt and pepper. Set aside
  3. Heat a large cast iron skillet over medium heat and add butter. Melt and stir for 3 minutes – butter should be fragrant and starting to brown.
  4. Add in honey and whisk until dissolved. Add to that the grated ginger and lemon juice. Continue whisking for 2 minutes.
  5. Add the salmon fillets to the skillet, skin side down. Spoon the butter mixture over the salmon and leave on heat for 4 minutes.
  6. Place the cast iron skillet into the oven for 7-10 minutes (depending on thickness of salmon fillets). Around the last minute, spoon the butter mixture over the salmon again.
  7. Remove from oven and serve over a bed of rice – adding extra sauce on top along with diced scallions
